AI is a rapidly developing field. This webinar will provide an overview of the potential role AI could play in the workplace. APUS faculty member Dr. Wanda Curlee will discuss AI and its role in the workplace. She will also discuss the benefits of AI in improving workplace productivity. This webinar gives you a good introduction to AI and machine-learning.

AI is a subset CompSci

AI is a branch of computer science that allows machines to perform tasks previously performed by humans. This field develops algorithms and computer systems capable of learning from large amounts. These applications can be used for image analysis or predictive analytics.

AI is an ever-evolving field that has numerous applications. AI technology has many applications. It automates tasks such as text processing, resource management, intelligent cameras, and much more. This technology can bring a new level in productivity and value to businesses. This webinar will discuss some of the most cutting-edge AI applications and present some of the latest technologies.

ai artificial intelligence

AI has come a long way since its origins in 1956 at a conference at Dartmouth College. This conference was the place where many of the world's top researchers met with industry leaders. It is also where AI began to take root. Since then, many breakthroughs have been made in the field. In particular, advances in computer vision and robotics have been made. These technological advances have made AI tangible.

Machine learning is one subset of AI

Machine learning is the creation of algorithms to predict future behavior. It's been used in many applications from Google filtering spamm and malware to banks detecting suspicious transaction. It is also used in voice recognition software, such Amazon's Alexa. Doctors can also interpret test results using machine learning algorithms.

Machine learning is a subset artificial intelligent systems and is a method for teaching machines how to learn from their experience. Machine learning algorithms learn from experiences and can evolve over time, unlike traditional artificial Intelligence, which requires explicit programming. There are two types of these algorithms: unsupervised and supervising. Reinforcement training uses algorithms that learn through training data and adjust their values to account for different inputs.

Machine learning's goal is to minimize errors in prediction compared to ground truth. An error function can be used to calculate the difference between the model's estimate of a given example and the known example. The "evaluate-and-optimize" process is repeated until an acceptable level is reached.

defining ai

It is a part of CompSci

CompSci's Artificial Intelligence Institute webinar series offers a free webinar on artificial Intelligence. This webinar series aims to introduce the fundamental concepts of AI. This webinar also contains case studies and business insights. The webinars, which are free to attend, are hosted by experts in the field including Intel and CompSci faculty.

Artificial intelligence is a branch within computer science. It draws from neuroscience, psychology, cognition science, and many other fields. This branch of science has applications across many fields, including software development and engineering. Several branches of AI are intertwined, including neural networks.

While the idea that a machine can learn and think independently has been around since the beginning, it has taken some time for the field of AI to mature. AI research was launched at Dartmouth College in 1956, with the first AI conference. It attracted both major industry and government leaders. Significant advances in AI have been made since then. Although Newell's and Simon's GPS algorithm was a huge step forward in AI, it didn’t have the sophistication required to solve complex problems. Other significant advances came from the work of McCarthy and Weizenbaum, who devised the Lisp language for AI programming and the ELIZA natural language processing program. These breakthroughs set the foundation for chatbots or other AI systems.

FAQ

Which countries are leading the AI market today and why?

China has more than $2B in annual revenue for Artificial Intelligence in 2018, and is leading the market. China's AI industry is led Baidu, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Tencent Holdings Ltd. Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Xiaomi Technology Inc.

China's government is investing heavily in AI research and development. China has established several research centers to improve AI capabilities. The National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition is one of these centers. Another center is the State Key Lab of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems and the State Key Laboratory of Software Development Environment.

China is also home to some of the world's biggest companies like Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, and Xiaomi. All these companies are actively working on developing their own AI solutions.

India is another country which is making great progress in the area of AI development and related technologies. India's government is currently working to develop an AI ecosystem.

Which industries are using AI most?

The automotive industry is one of the earliest adopters AI. BMW AG employs AI to diagnose problems with cars, Ford Motor Company uses AI develop self-driving automobiles, and General Motors utilizes AI to power autonomous vehicles.

Banking, insurance, healthcare and retail are all other AI industries.

Who is the current leader of the AI market?

Artificial Intelligence (AI), is a field of computer science that seeks to create intelligent machines capable in performing tasks that would normally require human intelligence. These include speech recognition, translations, visual perception, reasoning and learning.

There are many types of artificial intelligence technologies available today, including machine learning and neural networks, expert system, evolutionary computing and genetic algorithms, as well as rule-based systems and case-based reasoning. Knowledge representation and ontology engineering are also included.

There has been much debate over whether AI can understand human thoughts. Deep learning has made it possible for programs to perform certain tasks well, thanks to recent advances.

Google's DeepMind unit, one of the largest developers of AI software in the world, is today. Demis Hashibis, the former head at University College London's neuroscience department, established it in 2010. DeepMind, an organization that aims to match professional Go players, created AlphaGo.

What is AI used today?

Artificial intelligence (AI), which is also known as natural language processing, artificial agents, neural networks, expert system, etc., is an umbrella term. It's also known as smart machines.

Alan Turing wrote the first computer programs in 1950. His interest was in computers' ability to think. He proposed an artificial intelligence test in his paper, "Computing Machinery and Intelligence." The test seeks to determine if a computer programme can communicate with a human.

John McCarthy, in 1956, introduced artificial intelligence. In his article "Artificial Intelligence", he coined the expression "artificial Intelligence".

Many AI-based technologies exist today. Some are simple and straightforward, while others require more effort. These include voice recognition software and self-driving cars.

There are two main types of AI: rule-based AI and statistical AI. Rule-based AI uses logic to make decisions. An example of this is a bank account balance. It would be calculated according to rules like: $10 minimum withdraw $5. Otherwise, deposit $1. Statistical uses statistics to make decisions. For example, a weather prediction might use historical data in order to predict what the next step will be.

Where did AI come from?

Artificial intelligence was created in 1950 by Alan Turing, who suggested a test for intelligent machines. He stated that a machine should be able to fool an individual into believing it is talking with another person.

John McCarthy later took up the idea and wrote an essay titled "Can Machines Think?" John McCarthy published an essay entitled "Can Machines Think?" in 1956. He described the difficulties faced by AI researchers and offered some solutions.

What does AI do?

An algorithm is a sequence of instructions that instructs a computer to solve a problem. A sequence of steps can be used to express an algorithm. Each step is assigned a condition which determines when it should be executed. Each instruction is executed sequentially by the computer until all conditions have been met. This is repeated until the final result can be achieved.

Let's suppose, for example that you want to find the square roots of 5. If you wanted to find the square root of 5, you could write down every number from 1 through 10. Then calculate the square root and take the average. That's not really practical, though, so instead, you could write down the following formula:

sqrt(x) x^0.5

This means that you need to square your input, divide it with 2, and multiply it by 0.5.

A computer follows this same principle. The computer takes your input and squares it. Next, it multiplies it by 2, multiplies it by 0.5, adds 1, subtracts 1 and finally outputs the answer.

AI: Is it good or evil?

AI is both positive and negative. AI allows us do more things in a shorter time than ever before. There is no need to spend hours creating programs to do things like spreadsheets and word processing. Instead, instead we ask our computers how to do these tasks.

On the other side, many fear that AI could eventually replace humans. Many believe that robots will eventually become smarter than their creators. This means they could take over jobs.
